Digital commission process

1. AVAILABILITY

Due to high demand Ashlimarierose has limited availability for new commissions!

When spots are available we will open them on our website, and you will be able to apply.

2. HOLD YOUR SPOT

- Click on the link below "Apply Now" and this will redirect you to the page where you can purchase a spot in the queue.

- Add the item to your cart and purchase it using your preferred method of payment.

- If your Commission is approved this amount will be used as a credit for your Commission, otherwise for any other circumstances this item is fully refundable.

 * Please keep in mind that this does not guarantee a commission, it will hold a spot for you to be able to apply but approval will depend on photo quality, deadline and briefing among other factors.

3. FILL OUT AN APPLICATION

- You will receive an email from Ashlimarierose with a link where you will be able to access a google form that will act as an application and briefing for your commission.

- Please refer to “Specifications” in the next section to see our tips on how to take the best photos for portraits. Keep in mind that the quality of the photo directly affects the result. The better the photo, the better the portrait.

4. APPROVAL EMAIL

- Once we evaluate your application you will receive another email and will be given 48 hours to respond accepting the terms as discussed and confirming your briefing including any changes and the final quote that will be provided.

- Please note that if you do not respond to the email within the 48 hours you may lose your spot in the queue as we have a long waiting list. If this does occur you will receive a refund for the holding amount.

5. LOCK IT IN

- Once you respond we will send you an invoice. All artwork must be paid in full before the piece is created.

- When we receive proof of payment, we will add you to the calendar and Ashli will be ready to start on your commission!

6. PROCESS

- When it is your turn Ashli will begin to sketch your drawing and if she has any further questions we will be in touch. All art pieces have a minimum 8 week turnaround time. If you need your art piece by a certain date, please let Ashli know.

- Please note that once the drawing process begins, no edits may be made.

7. FINAL PIECE

- Once your piece is completed, we will then send you the file via drop box/ for you to download.

- It is important to remember that this is a digital portrait so a physical print will not be provided unless discussed and additional art print fee is paid.

8. REVIEW AND SHARE

- This step is COMPLETELY OPTIONAL!

- Once we finalize everything, we will ask for your permission to share the portrait on our social media, we understand some commissions are a surprise and are happy to wait and work around you!

- We also ask to leave a review on social media if you have time as it allows us to read your feedback and also future clients can get an idea of the process too!

Photo reference specifications

IN ORDER FOR US TO PROVIDE THE BEST POSSIBLE OUTCOME PLEASE NOTE THESE SPECIFICATIONS WHEN APPLYING FOR A SPOT:

DISTANCE
Ensure the subject is clearly visible and not too far away resulting in a distorted image.

LIGHTING
It is highly important to select pictures in which you can see all details of the face.  Avoid photos containing strong shadows that make it difficult to see the small features.

RESOLUTION
Photos taken with a good camera will certainly make all the difference in the end result. Phone cameras are usually acceptable when a presentable image is achieved by taking a photo with a clean lens and in a good definition. We encourage you to use as much natural light as possible to make sure leading lines are clear, contrast, as well as patterns and repetitions, are noticeable and symmetry is obtained. Refrain from using screenshots as they tend to lose the quality compromising the resolution. For lower quality or older photos, we recommend a more artistic style of portrait.

DETAILS
The details enrich the portrait significantly. To achieve such a result the whole face needs to be adequately shown, eyes in focus (preferably not wearing reflective glasses) and every possible feature visible such as fur direction, eyebrows, expression lines, etc.

BRIEFING
The briefing needs to be as detailed as possible because it will be followed when creating the portrait.  Any changes to clothing, positioning, hair colour/style all need to be mentioned in the initial briefing to be included in the quote.

“MOMENTS THAT NEVER HAPPENED”

Please keep in mind there may be extra costs when combining photos as it takes longer to create the portrait and often requires changes in clothing and positioning to create a more realistic outcome.
